EURO CONVERTER

Hello, i have 4 spreadsheets from 2002 that i really need to use NOW ....
andddd, I have columns with Euros and Pesetas ...... which, in 2002 linked
on a different computer to the one i am using .... to the euroconverter.....
BUT ... now, when i open any of the 4 documents ( and it´s the same result if
i UPDATE - as when i DON´T UPDATE ) ..... all the cells that used the EURO
CONVERTER have a NAME? inside !!! .... is there any way of ammending this
quickly ????

Just before closing .... the strange thing is that .... when i open the
document and the window comes up with UPDATE - DON´T UPDATE options...... in
the background i can see the whole spreadsheeet will ALL the numbers in it
............... but then, when i either UPDATE, or DON´T UPDATE, or even just
close that window .... all the cells turn into NAME??? ...... cells
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would be so greatfull for an answer !!! thank you !!!! Amanda.

Hi Amanda

What is the formula in the cells that come up with #NAME.
If you can tell us that, I would think the insertion of that Name
through Insert>Name>Define with value equal the conversion rate between
Pesetas and Euros will solve you problem.

Thank you for responding Roger - this service is amazing! do you work for
microsoft or are you simply a forum XL wizz ??

The code is one of the cells IS :::

='C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\OFFICE11\LIBRARY\EUROTOOL.XLA'!EUROCONVERT(B4,"EUR","ESP")

as an example - all the rest do refer to a different cell on the sheet that
i can read.

Might have to be out of touch until monday ... as i am travelling tomorrow
.... but will respond as soon as i can!

cheers, Amanda.

Thanx ever so much for responding David. I went to the page you suggested,
read the instructions ..... to download the ADD-INS .... buttttt it tells me
to go to TOOLS and then to ADD-INS .... and my bloody TOOLS menu in EXCEL
does notttt have the ADD-INS option ..... maybe i have an older version of
XL ??

One other question by the by .... does Windows come with the Euro Converter
already installed ??? is it a normal function of XL ??? you see, i have
never used it and the woman who wrote the spread-sheet is a Russian that is
no longer working for us .... so i am trying to pick up on her work !!!

cheers, Amanda ( by the way, i must travel tomorrow, so might not be able to
respond until next Monday )
