Event 1002 for Word

I am having Word 2003 hang repeatedly through the day. The Event Viewer
shows 1002:

Hanging application WINWORD.EXE, version 11.0.8227.0, hang module hungapp,
version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.

How can I cure this?
