Event Reminders Are Repeatedly Resent Even After Dismissal

I was wondering if there is any new information on the well-known but as of
yet unacknowledged bug where when using Outlook Connector, reminders set for
recurring events are resent to the user repeatedly even after they are
dismissed.

At first, Outlook pops up the same reminder over and over again, even when
"dismiss" or "dismiss all" is pressed. The only way to fix the issue is
either to turn off reminders for a particular event, or turn off reminders
period in Outlook.

I've tried turning off popup reminders all together and using Windows Live
Alerts instead to remind me of upcoming events. Now I get the same email
reminder repeatedly until I turn off alerts as well. So far I have received
the same reminder email 26 times in the last 16 hours.

This issue has been described on several forums and support areas, but so
far there not been any response, solution, or even acknowledgment of the
issue from Microsoft. I've sent support requests to the Outlook and Outlook
Connector sections of Microsoft's support site and have thus been ignored (as
have other users). I've posted my issue on Windows Live Help and have been
pushed away to a private Windows Live Calendar support system. I'm currently
awaiting a response from the Windows Live Calendar team.

This issue has been reported by users as far back as December, and an
Outlook Connector tester even reported this issue back when 12.1 was still in
Beta. That's right -- they knew about this issue and rolled out the "final"
version of 12.1 anyway without fixing it. And they've been ignoring the issue
since.

If the Outlook Connector feature is playing a major part in your decision to
spend money on either Outlook and/or Hotmail Premium, please don't waste your
money until it is addressed. It is a very serious and crippling bug that
requires you to either be constantly interrupted or disable a very vital
feature of your Calendar.

Someone needs to come forward and acknowledge the issue, and let us know
what is being done and when a fix can be expected.
