every time I type the letter a the find popup comes up

Every time I type the letter a a find popup menu appears. All other keys work
except the z which brings up the search panel

Possibilities include:
1. bad keyboard driver ... reinstall
2. bad keyboard ... try another one (they do wear out)
3. computer virus or ad-ware which interfering with your computer ...
check machine
4. other hardware flaw
