Everything about References takes up 100% CPU usage

In Word 2007, when I switch to 'References' tab, click 'Insert references'
button, 'manage sources' button, select/copy/delete entries in the
main/current list, the CPU usage surges up to 100% (reported by Windows task
manager). I'm using Windows XP Home Edition and Office Student and Home 2007.
I log in as a limited user (i.e. not an adiminstrator account). Thanks.
