Everything Bolds

On any new document, anything I try (Bold, Italics,
Center) gets applied to the entire document. Even if i
have one character selected. If I hit undo once, the
document does what it is supposed to.

I have reinstalled, completely, about 2 times, no dice.

Help Please.

This is usually caused by having "Automatically update" enabled in your
style definitions. See
