Everything used on the tool bar runs very slow, why?

Everything used on the tool bar runs very slow, only in the work book I
am presently using. I am Using Office 2000.
Example : Cut and Paste takes around 30 seconds. Saving is even longer.

Are you really saying that File, Save or tool bar icon for Save
takes longer than Ctrl+S ?
