Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange Have office 2008 running on a quad core Mac Pro, office is updated to 12.2.4 and every time I install entourage 2008 EWS it breaks entourage and gives a "Cannot open entourage because it is not supported on this architecture" error. I don't understand as this is a MAC pro with intel quad core processor running 10.5.4. It meets all the prerequisites.. Uninstalled and reinstalled office 2008 then do the EWS update and it immediately breaks again. Any ideas?

What version of EWS are you trying to install? Are you sure your Exchange
server meets the requirements for EWS?

We have already migrated 30 users over.... It is just an anomaly with this one machine.

We have already migrated 30 users over.... It is just an anomaly with this one
machine.

We¹ve seen some strange errors where it indicated you couldn¹t install when
the user did meet all requirements.

Let's try a simple fix first. Since 12.2.4 is already installed, drag over
an Office folder in Applications that already has EWS installed and replace
the current folder. The underlying files are not changed after upgrading to
v13 EXCEPT the MAU. Copy over the MAU as well.

The Office 2008 MAU is now hidden away.

/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0

If that fails, let's try the following:

Try restarting first in Safe Boot mode. (Hold down Shift when when starting
up the computer.) Then restart 4x normally. Repair Permissions. Zapping the
PRAM might help too.

If it still fails, try creating a new User in System Preferences with admin
privileges and try installing when booting from the new User.
