Ex-Employee E-mails: Archived, but Accessible

S

Sarah LaGrande

Is it possible to keep the .pst with an ex-employee's e-mails archived, but
accessible? The problem is that they are on Outlook, but we all use Outlook
Express. Is there a way to look at the .pst from Outlook Express? And will
that wipe out the person who is loading it? I would appreciate any help or
suggestions.

No, but when you have Outlook configured with the pst-file you can import it
from within OE.

So can we have the .pst saved somewhere and load it in someone else's OE?
Without it affecting that person's settings?

No, it is not possible to load a pst-file in OE. You can only load it in
Outlook. Once loaded in Outlook you can use import from within OE to import
from Outlook or use export from within Outlook to export to OE.

How do we do that? And will it screw with the OE we load it to?

Asked and answered. Open the PST in Outlook and then export its contents to
Outlook Express.
And will it screw with the OE we load it to?

Well, it will store the messages in that OE's message store, creating
folders if needed, but it won't change that OE's settings in any way.
