exceeded an outgoing emial size.

I tried to send about 12 photos to my son from my outlook 2003, however I did not know that there was a cap to the memory and it would get "stuck".
Everytime I send mail, check mail or open my outlook, it keeps trying to sent this email.
It never gets sent and slows everything down loads.
It won't let me open, delete or move it anywhere, when I try, I get the following error message; "Cannot open this item. Outlook has already begun transmitting this message". Then when the transmission is complete I get;
"522 maximum message size exceeded", I'm green so please talk down to me.

Click on File, Work Offline. You should be able to delete the message. If
you can't, close Outlook, then try again - then click on File, and disable
Work Offline.
