Yesterday (April 14), I got excited to see that there was an update. After I downloaded update 12.1.7, I realized that Excel is still slow for large files with charts.

Does anybody have any idea when a decent version of Excel 2008 will be released?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Nobody here would have any idea if/when/how anything about the program will
be changed - that's the busines of Microsoft, not those of us who simply use
the product. The 12.1.7 udpate - according to published info - only
addressed a security issue with Excel, nothing more.

I don't know the update I did this morning took about 20 minutes on a
1Mb DSL Line, to download. then when it installed everything it
indicated it installed a new version of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint,
along with other components.

I checked this morning and Word/Excel/PowerPoint, and Entourage are all
at 12.1.17
