Excel 2000 and Windows XP error

I have a mapped network drive that I can open my previously saved Excel files
from (at that time we were using Windows 98) but when I make the changes
needed and try to save the file with a new name I receive an error message
saying that "x:\filename isn't accessible. The folder may be located on an
unavailable volume or protected with a password." If I change the filename to
x:\Book1 (the default name offered) I can save the file to the mapped
directory. I then need to access this folder from Windows Explorer to rename
the file, which Windows XP allows me to do with no problems. Other machines
on the same network do not have this problem -- any ideas?

If you installed Windows update KB885250 "MS05-011: Vulnerability
in server message block could allow remote code execution", try
uninstalling KB885250 in Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove
Programs. See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=895900 "You
cannot save a file from your Windows XP-based or Windows
2000-based computer to a shared folder on a file server" for more
information.
