Hello,
I am working on a network which is running Windows 2000 Sever and have
client computers running Windows 2000 Pro and WinXP Pro. Windows 2000
machines have Office 2000 and XP machines have Office 2003. Multiple users
need access to an Excel document on a shared drive on the server. Anyone
using an XP machine can open the file and make changes and save. Users on W2K
machines cannot open the file. Receive an error message that reads:
EXCEL.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need
to restart the program.
An error log is being created.
Keeping in mind that this file has been used by users on XP and W2K for the
past 2 months with no reported problems, what could possibly be the error? No
updates have been installed on the server recently.
