Excel 2000 Pivot Table Use

J

Jenn O.

I received a pivot table from another person, and I want to limit the
information viewed to my specific information. (The table is for many
apartment communities, but I just want to see information pertinent to my
community).

When I try to select my information from the drop down box, I get the
following message/error:

Microsoft Excel cannot make this change because there are too many row or
column items. Drag at least one row or column field off the PivotTable, or to
the page position. Alternatively, right click a field, and then click Hide or
Hide Levels on the shortcut page.

I've never used PivotTables before, and I have no idea what it is referring
too and/or how to fix this.

Please help!
