Excel 2001 - Sytem 9 vx. System 10 (MAC)

We recently switched to operating system Mac 0sx Version 10.3.3.
My original spreadsheet runs in classic (System 9.2). Since I switched to
System 10, strange compressed boxes appear on the spreadsheets. They
look like a thin line that is overlapped many times horizontally. They can
only be deleted by clicking on each one and deleting. Takes 20 minutes to
delete one set and one set uses up over 80,000 bytes. Each time we open
the spreadsheet, it seems strange things appear. One time it also had entire
cells that were sold colored lines that printed out. But were not set up for
that. Anyone else having this sort of problem?

I've never seen this - it sounds like a corrupt file, assuming it
happens only in one workbook.
