On WinXP SP3 I've set the non-unicode default characters to Japanese
for work reasons, but I notice that Excel 2003 SP3 now crashes on
msvcrt.dll ver 7.0.2600.5512.
Reverting back the non-unicode characters to English solves the issue,
which seems connected to that version of msvcrt.dll. Another machine
with the previous version 7.0.2600.2180 of the library does not suffer
that issue.
If no other solution exists, is it possible to unregister the current
msvcrt.dll and reinstall the previous build 2180? It appears to be a
protected system file, can't simply overwrite it with an older
version.
Thank you,
