Excel 2004 to Windows

When I send spreadsheet to colleague with Windows, she complains it comes out gibberish. Is this a 2004-2007 problem? Is there any translater I should use?

No, there is no problem. Excel 2004 files open properly with no conversion
in Windows. Your problem is most certainly related to how you are sending
the file, and what the receiver is using to open it. Do you send the file
with an .xls extension? How are you sending it? How is the receiver reading
it?
