I am trying to discover a way to remove the cell protection notation, the small green triangle, from the upper left corner of the cell. I do not wish to protect the cell or entire sheet, just to remove the notation symbol, my spreadsheet have become overrun with little green triangles.

Thanks to all for your help.

One way:

Uncheck the "Unlocked cells containing formulas" checkbox in
Preferences/Error Checking.

Another:
Select the cell(s) with the green triangle. A smart button will appear
with a yellow diamond and an exclamation point. Click the button. Choose
"Ignore Error" from the dropdown.
