Excel 2007 Keyboard does not type what I enter

I figure it has to do with something about regions or something like that,
but when I type a . (period) I get a . (period), but when I type a > (greater
than) I still get a . (period).

Also when I type other keys, I get the wrong things, such as é when I type a
/

Only Excel is acting like this, none of the other Office apps are doing it.
So I figure it has to do with a default language or location, but I don't
know where to look.

Can anyone help me??

I had a similar problem about a year ago and Greg Wilson came to my aid...

Jim, the link works fine for me, and even though I am running Vista, the
article answered the question, put me in the correct spot to fix it. I am
Canadian, and in the regional settings it also added the French Canadian
keyboard layouts. Somehow, and I still don't know how, Excel was looking at
the french layout, and the rest of the office progams used the english.
Anyway, I just removed the alternate keyboard layouts, and Excel is working
properly for me.

Thanks for the tip.
