Excel 2007 opening .wks files

I have old ?Works? created .wks files.
I can't get Excel 2007 to open them.
Excel 2000 does.
Any suggestions?

MS discarded them as insecure. You can open and save them as XLS files
with :
- Excel 2003 < SP3 (or previous releases)
- Excel 2003 SP3 + patch
- Open Office (free download)

I was trying to avoid moving from machine to machine to open a file.
