Excel 2007 rendering problem, Data disappears & reappears !

Hi All,
I migrated 2 months ago from Office 2003 to Office 2007. A few weeks later I
started to migrate the file format from "xls" - 2003 format to 2007 native
format xlsx. Since then in many of his spreadsheets I have a problem with
displaying contents.
The spreadsheeds are sheets for planning production. They have lots of data
and lots of functions and also subtotals ... I use many of the features
excel gives me - as it should be ;-))
When I work for a while and scroll through the lines some areas of the
screen remains blank. The content of the cell is not lost - it is still there
but not displayed on the screen. Sometimes whole columns are blank, sometims
just a part of a column.

When I close the spreadsheet and reopen it - everything is ok.
The problem occurs on different systems with different hardware.

What I already did:
- changed the standard printer
- updatet the graphics driver
- full patch for windows and office patches

Any clue how to work around so that I can see whatever data there is as I
would in Excel 2003 ?

Do you use freeze panes?
I've heard that can cause rendering problems
Are you on SP2? have you downloaded the latest hotfixes?

Thank you for the quick response.
I have SP2 with latest hotfixes.
Yes, you are right, unfreezing the panes works but it is not practical
because there are thousands of rows which needs to be browsed each time, drag
the formulas and update, for this reason freezing the panes is a necessity.
I tried the same work book on 2010 technical preview and I guess MS has
resolved this problem.
One other problem which 2010 has not fixed is, when you click on a formula (
Example A1:A10 ) and try to mouse scroll, the page does not move up or down,
I am forced to go to the vert scroll bar. Version 2003 did not have this
problem.

Hopefully the 2010 final product would have the above problem fixed.

I know someone who is testing a private hotfix for this freeze pane/
scrolling issue. (I never managed to reproduce it on my install)

I assume if their tests are satisfactory Ms will make it more generally
available.

Drop me a line via the codematic website and I'll keep you posted
if/when I hear more.

Hi, Has this problem been resolved? I am downloading the latest updates but
am having the same problems.

Gabe, Not that I know of. Same problem. One other problem is , when we put
the cursor on the formula bar, the mouse scroll button is inactive. Only way
to scroll is use the slide bar on the side !. Hopefully MS will resolve when
the final product is released.
