i have the first name in the cell of an e-mail list and i need to add the
(@etc.com) can someone tell me how to do this

mfm i need it to look like [email protected]
please help

It goes in the cell in which you want the result. Perhaps in B1 if your
input data is in A1? Copy down the rest of the column as applicable.

i did it at cell and top left where your locations is but i get an err mesage
(You must enter a vilid reference you want to go to , our type a vilid name
for selection)

Open a new Excel workbook.
In A1 type "John" (no quotes")
In B1 type =A1&"@etc.com"

B1 should now display [email protected]

Adapt the formula to suit your original workbook.

sorry but it is not working i typed in B1 =A1&"etc.com"
and it looks like this when i hit enter. blue and underlined
then it goes to B2 leaveing looking just like ubove
by the way i have 3445 cells i need to do this to anyway to do them all at
one time ?

ok it worked after i closed it and started up again
anyway to do all 3445 at one time ?

If you have your names in A1 to A3445, and the formula in B1, then
just select B1 and double-click the fill handle - this is the small
black square in the bottom right corner of the cursor. The formula
will then be copied down automatically into the cells B2:B3445, and
each should show the email addresses as you want them.
