Excel 2008—What’s the Difference between the CORREL and PEARSON Functions?

Both the CORREL and PEARSON functions give me the same answer as when
I calculate a Pearson’s coefficient of correlation, or r, by hand. So
what’d the difference between these two functions?

I have no idea Ed - Stats ain't my strong suit :) But perhaps the
