Excel 2008 and PopCharX

Has anyone noticed a problem running Excel 2008 with PopCharX?

Recently I noticed that when I am entering data into Excel cells, data
entry will automatically terminate after around 3 seconds (as if
carriage return had been pressed) and any further data will replace
what was previously typed. This is using Office 12.1.0 under OS X
10.5.3. As I thought this was only a problem with Excel I reported the
issue to Microsoft tech support.

Investigating the problem further I determined that this problem with
data entry only occurs if PopCharX is running and is repeatable.

Has anyone else seen this using this combination of software?

Hi Steve -

I don't use it myself & have not seen any reports on the issue here.

Have you checked the developer's support?

Just. Apparently it's a known issue with PopChar although they would
refer to it as a know problem with Excel )

Yeah - it's always the other guy's fault:)

FWIW - my tendency is to lay the blame on the developer of the haxie...
They're the ones claiming compatibility. I'd hardly expect MS or Adobe or
any other major developer to analyze & revise ~300,000 lines of code to
accommodate the need of any one piece of freeware/shareware:)... Especially
since that revision may very well break any number of others. If the primary
app developer is actually at fault there will be more than just one or two
add-ons that will be adversely affected.
