Excel 2008 Crashing repeatedly

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I have been using OfficeMac 2008 for about a year now. I have an (original) Macbook Pro Laptop with Leopard V. 10.5.6, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 2 GB of Memory.
All my updates appear to be current, and I do have the 12.1.5 update installed for the Office suite.
I have also been using FileMaker Pro 10 for several months.

Yesterday, I was working on a database project which involves importing and exporting numerous data sets between Excel and FileMaker Pro. Yesterday evening, Excel started crashing and generating the below error report, which has never happened to me before. After Excel re-started itself, it automatically opens the last file I was working with, and then it crashes again as soon as I try to click any button in the Excel menu. I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out what might be wrong. Powerpoint, Word and Entourage all still appear to work just fine. Any suggestions??

I have the same problem - have been using OfficeMAC 2008 since last May and no problems. About 3 weeks ago Excel started crashing all the time.
It seems like there are a lot of posts with this same issue however I've not seen any definitive solutions.

I am running with the latest updated ver 12.1.5 and have replicated the error. I open a file, deleted a row using the menu and mousepad and then used the arrow key to move to another cell and it crashed. The only other application open was Firefox. Here is my error message:
