Excel 2008 startup

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel How do I prevent a new workbook being created when I launch Excel?

Other than launching by double-clicking an existing workbook file, you
can't. That's the way the program is designed to work because there is
absolutely nothing that can be done - including changing Preferences
settings - unless a file is open. Even if you can't see it, much of what the
program needs in order to operate is actually stored in a workbook file.

There is no problem because the new file uses no RAM & is simply discarded
when you open another file [assuming there have been no changes made in
it]... Nor is there any limit on the number of new files Excel can generate,
so there is no concern about 'using them up' :)
