When I quickly scroll down a list, if my fingers aren't just perfect on the touchpad, the screen jumps to the side and I lose my place. How can I make the screen stay on the columns I have in view, and use a scroll bar to go to the side?

System Preferences/Trackpad, uncheck the "Allow horizontal scrolling"
