My grandfather is using Excel 4.0 on Office 98 because of a boatload of
macros her created (way back) and needs to keep. I'd like to get him to
upgrade to 2004. Will the macros transfer up (they haven't with previous
versions)?

Thanks

I belive Excel will run these macros. I don't think they can be altered,
though.

They should work in all MacXL versions, but there's no native support
for them. They should open in a Macro sheet, where they can be edited,
and they should be able to be run from Tools/Macro/Macros...

OTOH, it's been a *long* time since I've tried.

Your grandfather may find that recording new macros in VBA and learning
to edit them will also work. Post back here if you/he needs advice on
how to start.
