I have several Excel 2003 users that are reporting this problem. When
typing in a cell, if they type a "9" all the preceeding characters in
the cell are erased leaving only the 9. For instance, if they type
"abcd9" the characters display as they are typing until the "9" key is
pressed. At this point, "abcd" is cleared and only the "9" remains in
the cell.
I've seen this myself and tried opening a new Excel document, thinking
it could be a macro of some sort, but it displayed the same behavior
in the new document. The problem has not been seen in any other
software, so I am assuming that it is not a hardware or system wide
issue.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to further troubleshoot this?
Thanks,
