OK, I'll try this again. I've searched the fora, and can't find thes
specific issues addressed, so any help is greatly appreciated.
I have an intranet website for distribution of documents to coworkers
It works just fine for .pdf's, word and html files, but I've run into
snag with some Excel files. I'm using direct links to the files, so the
open up in the web browser. All files are protected at the Sheet an
Workbook levels. Some files open and close (via the "Back" button) jus
fine. Others, however, produce the following popup upon exit:
This document has been modified. Do you want to save changes?
Yes: Saves your changes
No: Discards your changes
Cancel: Keeps this document open
Please note that this appears on these documents even though nothin
has been done other than opening it. It's also worth noting that th
files that do this are consistant, so I suspect there is a setting tha
can be changed to alleviate the problem. I just haven't the slightes
idea what it would be!
On a separate matter, some of these files contain "automatic links t
information in another workbook", which causes a popup asking if th
reader wants that information updated. Is there a way to disable thi
at the workbook level, so it defaults to no update (keeping the las
saved information)? I would even be open to a method that "locks" th
file (doing away with the links), if that's the only way. Manuall
replacing all of them with the data is not really an option, though
due to the size of the workbooks.
