Does anybody know how to change the color of the selected cell from light blue to something that I can see easier?

Even when selecting a group of cells the color is too light to see quickly. Surely there is a way to adjust this.

Excel gets its highlight color from system preferences when Excel starts.
Change it in the appearance panel, and then quit and restart Excel.
