I have set up a series of spreadsheets on our organisation server. The
read data from each other using Data Query and PivotTable. Some o
these run automatically when the file opens, some are updated manually
The problem is that once the data query runs, this locks the source fil
for an indefinite period. When I try to open the file, I get "The sourc
file is currently in use by USERNAME", although it is not. USERNAME i
always the last person who successfully opened the file; so sometime
this is even my username! The only way I found to reliably get acces
again is to restart our server. This is obviously not a workabl
solution. Is there a problem with Excel, or is there something going o
with our network? Can anyone help?
