Excel did not download with CD

I installed Microsoft for Mac 2004 on my MacBook Pro, but it did not download Excel (it did Word, Entourage etc). Instead of the green X on the toolbar, I see a question mark. How do I now download just Excel and where from, without incurring additional costs??

What's in the Dock is simply an Alias [shortcut], not the program. Have you
confirmed that Excel hasn't been installed or are you just going by the
appearance of the Dock icon? Have a look in:

MacHD/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004

See if Microsoft Excel is actually there. If it is, run Disk Utility -
Repair Disk Permissions & restart. That may fix the faulty icon. If not, try
Control/Right-Clicking the faulty icon, select Remove from Dock [or just
drag it away from the Dock], then drag the Microsoft Excel application icon
to the Dock to replace it.

If Microsoft Excel actually is not on the HD you'll need to be more specific
about the circumstances. Did you install from a disk [purchased retail
package] or did you actually *download* [from a web site for example]
Office:Mac. There's a big difference.

If you do have the disk you can run the installer again & customize the
installation to install only Excel. If you have downloaded from some web
site or other source you'll need to contact that source for assistance.
