Excel difficulties in PowerPoint

Dear MVPs,
I created a spreadsheet in PowerPoint, using the Control Box because I need
to have it interactive when projected or shown.
But I can't seem to be able to control the way it appears. It keeps popping
up larger than the screen.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Vincent,
The Office worksheet object is a resizeable object just like an
autoshape. Resize it in Edit View to the size you want it in the
screenshow and it should stay that size. It does on my machine.

Dear Brian,
Ah, but there's the rub. It doesn't stay that way. I lay it out nicely, but
everytime I close the program, when I access the file, the spreadsheet has
misplaced itself, or it has enlarged itself. The Format Control box will
show that its dimensions have changed, and dramatically. Worse, when active
or in a show, I have no screen surface to click on and am trapped in the
slide. It allows me to work the spreadsheet, make calculations and all, but I
can't get out.
Is there a way to lock it in place? Lock it in size? Or, if I can't do that,
is there a way to add a trigger, hyperlink that stays ON TOP of the
spreadsheet which I can click to get out of the frame?
Thanks for the response.

Thank you! That works like a charm. One last question: is there a way to
show the toolbar in the spreadsheet? The browser does not "import" it.
But thanks a lot!

Vincent,
That's strange. Doesn't do that here.

Do you have the speadsheet control linked to another XL workbook? It
might be displaying the "size" of the other workbook.

Brian,

No, no links. I have looked at the file on another machine and it displays
the same unruliness. Martin's workaround works fine for me though:
everything in place, in the right size, and am able to leave room for me to
click out of it.
Thanks, guys.
