If you really need the zeroes you can start with ' which formats cell as
text. eg '00002

Ok, so we know you're annoyed (pl refrain from posting in all caps). Try
pre-formatting the entire col as Text (via clicking Format > Cells > Text >
OK), then enter your data. Alternatively, precede the data entry with an
apostrophe/single quote (the apostrophe won't show when you press ENTER).

You can specify a number of digits with a custom number format,
you can format the cell as Text prior to entering the data, or
you can precede the data with an apostrophe ('). And turn off
your !#!$(!## CAPS LOCK.
