Excel - Empty cells?

Using Excel 2000 on W2K sp4 pc's. My problem is using the same excel file on
some pc's we see text in the cells and on some pc's, those same cells are
empty. The contents of these cells contain simple text. Does anyone have an
idea what would cause these cells to show differently depending on what pc it
is opened with?
Thanks!

Maybe due to graphic adapter driver versions. On the "odd" PC's check
the driver version against what the manufacturer has available for the
card and update the driver if necessary. DO NOT use Windows update for
this, as the generic driver will likely cause more issues.

Click on one of the cells with missing/invisible content, to move the
cell cursor to that cell. Does the content show in the formula edit
field (above the grid of cells)?

It may be a formula looking up content from a different file (which is
only present om some machines).
It may be you're using a display setting with few colors, so that
background and foreground are rendered same colour
