Excel Error

We have four files that have not been opened in about 3
months. When we try to open them we get the following
message: EXCEL.exe has generated errors and will be closed
by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An
error log is being generated. But when we send these
files as an attachment to another computer throught e-mail
they open just fine. Office has been uninstalled and
reinstalled, SR-1 installed as well as SP 2 and SP 3. I
have even tried running a repair. Any ideas?

On the computer that is generating the errors, Clean the Temp Directories -
C:\windows\temp and c:\documents & settings\user\local settings\temp (must have
hidden and system files showing)
Clean your Temp internet files (include offline content)
You may have a bad toolbar (look for *.xlb) and rename it *.old to see if this
may be culprit.

I deleted all the temp files I could locate, and I did a
search for *.xlb and none came up would it be in the excel
directory? Thanks

It is not just the temp files, it is all the files in the Temp directories.
What OS are you using?
