Excel export is converting string to number

The following value "000001-01" (string) is being converted to 39083
(numeric) when viewing a report and then performing an OfficeLink to Excel.

Is there a way to force the value to retain its original string value?

Hi,
try to add quote ' in front of 000001-01 in a query, of add a space at the
end, this will make Excel think that this is a text
