excel f function keys

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) can i please have some help??????
being new to the world of Mac i am doing a excel spreadsheet and i need to be able to use the F key functions.
what i am after is in excel 2007 when doing a formula you can turn part of it into a $ input by pressing F4, can this be done in Excel 2008 or how can i do it otherwise please advise

What you're looking to apply is called Absolute Reference. The Mac keystroke
shortcut is Command+T... Or you can always type the $ yourself, there's
nothing 'magic' about the keystroke :)
