Hello,
I'm a bit frustrated today by losing all day's work which I thought I've
saved. This is something that should have been prevented(I remember opening
file makes the file read-only is something that should have been
implemented).
Today, I'm supposed to work on an Excel document (using Excel 2003)
stored on a SharePoint server. Since I've worked on other documents before
and it works without problem, I maybe a bit careless this time. There was
something I have to deal with when I was working on the document. Since I
thought I'll leave for a while, so I saved everything and quited Excel. (And
I didn't know that my boss also reading that file at that time.)
When I'm back and try to continue with my work, it was shocking to see
all change I made today are gone. I don't know why did it happen, and I
don't even know whether my boss did save anything at that time (with
autosave or not). It simply gone and I have to do everything (including
preparation work) from scratch again.
How can it happen...... Won't the first one opening the file will put
the file to read-only mode I suppose? This's something I least thought that
could happen.
