Excel formula - I know the problem but not the cure

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) I have a formula that will work in some column cells but not in others. It is a formula totaling various lines such as B5, B10,B15, etc. The formula will work for all the cells that do not have a negative number. Columns with cells with negative numbers return the answer #VALUE.

I am not proficient in formula's so various instructions and forum discussions are difficult to understand. I am desperate for help here and appreciate any assistance.
