We are running Office 2000 on Windows 2000. I have a user
who receives an Excel file each day, as an attachement to
an Outlook email. The file is only about 400Kb. She will
double-click to open the file, then do a Save As, then
manipulate the data for her report. Recently, the Excel
file will lock up at a certain point, and she has to use
Task Manager to close it. However, even with Outlook
still open, if she were to close the Excel file, then re-
open it directly through Excel (no longer "attached" to
Outlook), it never freezes.
Is there some reason why this Excel file would lock when
it is opened originally from Outlook?
Thanks.
