When I try to copy or past multiple cells the excel worksheet I am using is unresponsive for several minutes while it is trying to copy or paste the cells. Any help would be great. Thanks

Since you didn't supply version information, the First step: Make sure you
have Office fully updated - 12.2.1 is current. Also, make sure OS X is fully
updated. If you need any updates -- or haven't done so recently -- repair
disk permissions & restart your Mac. Reply here if the problem continues.

I have updated the office and mac software and the problem is still occurring. Any help would be great. I am using a file that I believe was created by a pc and i have saved it on my desktop.

I'm assuming you used Apple's Software Update for updating OS X.
Unfortunately, the updates it delivers are minimal, so I'd suggest you go to
the following page & get the Combo 10.5.8 update. It will reconstruct more
of the OS than the SU version (Copy/Paste is an OS service). Apply that,
makes sure you repair disk permissions afterward, then see if things
improve.

I did the updates you suggested but am still having problems. Now even if i just highlight and copy 20 cells the program becomes unresponsive. Any other suggestions?

Hi kferrie, is it possible for you to send me ([email protected]) a copy of your spreadsheet with the confidential and privacy removed? Also, please let me know the detailed steps of reaching the unresponsive state. Thanks!
