Excel Hanging - "not responding" - eternal spinning blue wheel

I have a brand new Dell desktop with I5 CPU and 8Gb of RAM and a pristine new installation of Office 365 on Windows 10. everything works fine but Excel. It continually hangs - giving the "Excel Not Responding" message with dreaded spinning blue wheel.

Everything else works fine!

Can Anyone help?

I had the same issue on Monday of this week. I tried opening Excel a few times and got the spinning wheel. I opened task manager to make sure all the Excel programs were closed out, then opened Word. Closed Word and since then had no problems with Excel......
