EXCEL Hangs when trying to Bold or Change Font

If I select any buttons or fuctions from the text formating toolbar, excel
hangs and does not respond.

I have Excel 2002.

Any ideas?

Hi, have the same problem, and would like to hear if you or anyone else has

Try searching for a file called Excel.xlb and move it. Re-start excel and
see if that fixes the problem.

The file is the toolbar customisation file that often gets corrupted. Excel
will create a new one when it can't find the original, but you will lose any
toolbar customisations

The file may be hidden so search hidden files to. It may also have a
slightly different name but will always end in .xlb
