Excel Image

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) I'm trying to have a single image as my background in an excel document.

If i insert the photo as the background option it won't print and i can't format the image the way i would like.

If i simply insert a photo it will not allow me to 'send to back' and i can't type over the image......

If i change the transparency (b/c i still can't send to back) i have to move the image, type what i want to type and then move the image back in place.....

This would be used as a template very often and i would need to be typing over the image often.....

help?

Thanks!

The Format> Sheet> Background feature is intended for on screen display, not
for printing. As you've also found, any objects inserted into the file
'float' on the surface of the sheet obstructing access to underlying cells &
cannot be positioned behind them.

It sounds like what you're attempting to do is create a *Watermark*, which
is a PITA as described in Excel Help. They must be manually sized,
formatted, saved as an image & inserted into a Header. If using a graphic
you can disregard the parts which refer to font formatting. See the topic:

Add a watermark to a sheet

BTW: Watermarks do not display on screen.
