Excel in Snow Leopard glitches

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I installed Snow Leopard and the Formula and Standard toolbars on Excel 2008 for Mac appear hidden when I open a new document. I have to "hide" them and then "unhide" them for excel to pick them up. The window size of excel exceeds my screen size. Have to resize it again.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

Click the toolbar button (the clear button on the upper right corner of
the workbook window.

Close XL to save the preference.

It works just like other OSX windows.
