Danny

Hi,

Is there a "Lite" version of Excel, or at least a "Lite Mode" I can put excel into? All I want is a simple sheet and Excel is so complicated to use with all these menues and options...

Thanks,

Danny.

Don't think so, but check eBay, I bet it is really cheap there.

In fact I just checked, loads of copies for less than a fiver.

Price did not seem to be the criteria, rather it was a simpler interface
with the user.

I would think that some of the shareware/freeware spreadsheets would have less
features.

With regard to free spreadsheets, if you want simple yet fairly complete,
nothing beats Sphygmic Spreadsheet. It's now zombieware - the company that
wrote it is no longer in business. It's still available as freeware, but
there won't be updates or support. It's also a Windows 3.x app, so it runs
in a compatibility mode. And, perhaps importantly, it lacks an undo
facility.

I haven't used it much myself, but compared to the other freeware and
shareware spreadsheets I've tinkered with, it's fast, reasonably robust, and
more spreadsheet than the one that comes with Works (aside from lacking
undo). And it runs in less than 1MB RAM.
