This is almost certainly a file locking problem. Are you on a Network? Are
you using Word XP with a Windows 2000 Server with SP3? If so, get your sys
admin to look up the SMB Packer Signing bug introduced by SP3.

I keep getting the message:
Word cannot save this file because it is already open
elsewhere.
I have Word 2002. I should have been the first one to open
this file. If anyone else opened it after me, they
shouldn't have write access. What do you suggest?

Will this also help with the following Excel error?
