Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC R2 emulator with Excel Mobile as in Visual

[SUMMARY]
I have Excel 2007 workbook saved in 'Excel 97-2003' file format. File,
when loaded after removing password, fails to open in Excel mobile
[emulator] with error message "password protected Excel workbooks
cannot open in Excel Mobile".
[IN DETAIL]
My file was fairly complex logic, hence before trying load into WM5
emulator, I removed all 'WebQueries', button controls, all macros,
forms. File still would have graphs, among other calculations most of
whose formulas' APIs are available on Excel Mobile. This file was
initially password protected, hence I removed the password.
After doing above, saved file and then transferred to WM5 emulator.
Transfer dialog mentioned its converting into necessary file format.
But looks like somewhere either this conversion of Excel Mobile itself
is failing, as I get error message when tried to open this file from
Emulator. Message says that it cannot open password protected Excel
files, even though I have now removed the password before transfer.
Any clue to fix will be very useful.
